How to Install
SillyTavern Simple Launcher is in active development, we offer no guarantees or warranties. The STSL is to be used at your own risk. The SillyTavern Simple Launcher is developed separately from SillyTavern
If you have GIT already installed on your machine getting STSL is easy. Simple open terminal and CD to the location you want to install and run the following command.
git clone https://github.com/BlueprintCoding/SillyTavernSimpleLauncher -b main
Then once the repo is cloned, open the "SillyTavernSimpleLauncher" folder and run the "STSL GUI Launcher.bat" file. It will ask for adminstrator permissions to download and install all of the dependencies. (During initial install you may need to run this bat file twice in a row to ensure all dependencies are installed and activated)
If you don't have GIT installed you can go the GitHub latest releases and download the most recent release zip file.

Then once the zip is downloaded, extract the "SillyTavernSimpleLauncher" folder where you want SillyTavern to be installed and run the "STSL GUI Launcher.bat" file. It will ask for adminstrator permissions to download and install all of the dependencies. You will use this bat file to open the launcher. (During initial install you may need to run this bat file twice in a row to ensure all dependencies are installed and activated)
-Once you have SillyTavern Simple Launcher installed and opened, follow these steps.
1) Go to the Install Tab and click "Install SillyTavern Dependencies", this will close the GUI and install all the requirements for SillyTavern,
once the command prompt says "Process Completed Successfully" close that command window and run the "STSL GUI Launcher.bat" file. again to launch the UI.
2) Go back to the Install tab and click "Install SillyTavern - Main Branch" and/or "Install SillyTavern - Developer Preview", this will use GIT and clone the branch of SillyTavern you have chosen into the folder where you added the "SillyTavernSimpleLauncher" folder. (NOTE: Do not change the names of the SillyTavern main or dev folders or the launcher will no longer be able to find them.)
2a) Optional: If you already have SillyTavern installed on your computer you can copy/move that folder into the same parent folder as the "SillyTavernSimpleLauncher" folder.
-If it is a main release change the folder name to: "SillyTavern-MainBranch"
-If it is a developer branch release, change the folder name to: "SillyTavern-DevBranch"
3) Once you have installed the desired branch of SillyTavern, go to the Launch tab and click either "Launch ST Main" for the main branch or "Launch ST Dev" for the dev branch, SillyTavern will initialize and open a web browser to SillyTavern.
